چکیده

Abstract In cognitive modeling, it is often necessary to complement a core model with choice rule derive testable predictions about behavior. Researchers can typically choose from variety of rules for single model. This article demonstrates that seemingly subtle differences in rules’ assumptions how consistency relates underlying preferences affect the distinguishability competing models’ and, as consequence, informativeness comparisons. demonstrated series simulations and comparisons between two prominent models decision making under risk: expected utility theory cumulative prospect theory. The results show that, all else being equal, relative assume constant level (trembling hand or deterministic), using depends on strength preference (logit probit) substantially increase (measured Bayes factors). because such logit probit make possible are more readily distinguishable. Overall, findings reveal although they regarded auxiliary assumptions, play crucial role More generally, analyses highlight importance testing robustness inferences modeling respect secondary this be achieved.

Markov Chain Choice Model from Pairwise Comparisons

Recently, the Markov chain choice model has been introduced by Blanchet et al. to overcome the computational intractability for learning and revenue management for several modern choice models, including the mixed multinomial logit models. However, the known methods for learning the Markov models require almost all items to be offered in the learning stage, which is impractical. To address this...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
